About Us

We are a family run cider producer with the simple intention to provide fantastic premium ciders made from 100%, none diluted, not from concentrate fruit juices. Unlike most cider producers who use bittersweet blended varietals, we decided to be different and craft our ciders from a selection of single variety apples known as dessert apples. Our fruit is hand picked at the peak of their ripeness, a method rarely used in the industry. This allows us to ensure fruit quality where common practice is ground harvesting by machine.

Old Grove Farm

We are situated at a picturesque black & white farmhouse set in the rolling Herefordshire countryside not far from the magnificent Malvern hills. Even though we are a relatively new producer, Old Grove Farm has a long history of cider making as it is the home to a 17th century working cider mill and press (maybe we'll get round to making a small batch from it in the future!).

Blossom at Old Grove

Predominantly a dessert and cider fruit grower, winner of multiple awards for best orchard and innovation, it was decided out of intrigue to make some cider from the more characteristic apples. These were to be the Temptation, Falstaff, Russet and Cox varieties which are in Old Grove's mainstay selection today. In typical Old Grove fashion by not doing things by half, 1500 litres of cider were made the first year to test the waters and due to demand output has been increased ever since.

The fruit is sourced at one of our three orchard sites at Leighton Court, Lower Eggleton, Herefordshire. The blackcurrant juice used in our Old Grove Black cider is provided by the brilliant juicers at Pixley Berries nearby.
